Police Back Checks for all hockey volunteers are due by December 31st.

 

Team Officials (Coaches, Managers, and Trainers) of North Star Minor Hockey registered teams (including Gulf Storm teams) are required to have a police back check performed by their local police or RCMP detachment, and then submit a copy of the report to the coordinator of your division, who will then forward a copy to Hockey PEI in a sealed and protected envelope.

In addition, Hockey PEI now requires a similar background check for ALL hockey association volunteers, not just team officials.  Background checks are necessary for all volunteers that are 18 years of age or over. 

These checks will be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of the performed background check, after which a new check will be required if the volunteer wishes to continue working with the association.

This new ruling and procedure is for the safety and protection of our community's children.  We appreciate your cooperation.
