Beginning last weekend, the North Star Atom A & PeeWee A teams launched a food drive for the Upper Room Food Bank in time for Christmas.
This same food drive was held last year, and was a huge success, donating two 1/2 tonne truck loads of rubbermaid bins full of food to needy families.
Yellow donation bins are located at the Rink and at the Co-op in Rustico. Donations will be collected twice a week until which time both teams will make their drop off at the food bank approx 1 week before Christmas.
Please spread the word to your contact lists and parents because this is a great opportunity for us to express to our kids that hockey is about more than scoring goals and that their efforts can make a difference.
